Because of the February-March floods last year, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Woodburn operates out of demountables in the grounds of the Catholic church in Evans Head.
A Catholic School Review Commission report recommended that St Joseph’s in Woodburn not be rebuilt at its original flood-prone site in Woodburn.
The same decision has been made for Trinity Catholic College in Lismore and Our Lady Help of Christians Primary School in South Lismore.
This is mainly because the schools could not be insured, the report said.
Parents are meeting at St Joseph’s temporary school site in Wattle Street in Evans Head on Tuesday, June 6 at 6pm to discuss the recommendation that the school site not be rebuilt in Woodburn.
