It is the love of community that drives Lauren Heath.

When the floods hit, Lauren’s Swan Bay house wasn’t inundated because of being on slightly higher ground.

Others were not so fortunate.

“I love this community. I’m a stay-at-home mum who runs a small business from home and in an event (floods) like this it is imperative to give everyone an opportunity to fill their cup back up,” she said.

Lauren organised a community get-together at Woodburn at Easter.

And she’s doing another one.

This time the Woodburn Fundraiser is at the Rod ‘n’ Reel Hotel on Saturday, June 18.

The money raised will go to the Woodburn and surrounds communities.

Lauren is excited about the Fire & Flow performance by Faeya Flow. The Wildlife Twins will be there and there will be a raffle, food trucks, music, face painting, bubble fun, Northern Rivers Jumping Castles, Byron Bay Twisters and Lennox Smokin Barrell.

The Fun Day for families is 2-6pm. Music is 6-11pm

Lauren wants everyone to come together to “do something normal and happy”.

“Nothing about the flood situation is normal so we are desperate to breathe some love and good vibes into the community and aid in putting the wind back in their sails”

The Woodburn Family Fundraiser is on Saturday, June 18. Gold coin entry.
