Woodenbong gets sporty for Aus Day celebrations

Australia Day Ambassador Rhys Muldoon joins the game at the golf course in Woodenbong.

Woodenbong had a special guest visit on Australia Day.

Comedian and writer Rhys Muldoon spent three days in the Woodenbong community which gave him plenty of time for a hit of golf.

State MP Janelle Saffin MP and Kyogle mayor Danielle Mulholland were part of the award ceremony on the day.

Woodenbong RSL provided billy tea and damper, there was a flag raising ceremony, formal award ceremony, free lunch and the Woodenbong tradition of City versus Country cricket match.

Again this year – Country won.
