Yarding of 2300 head at NRLX cattle sales

There was a yarding of almost 2300 head at the cattle sales at NRLX today, Wednesday, June 24.

There were about 860 cows, 40 bulls, 27 bullocks and more than 1300 vealers and yearlings. 

The market was slightly dearer for the mid range cows with bullocks and bulls similar and vealer and yearlings reflexing on quality. 

Vealer steers under 200kg sold from 320c to 594c/kg to restockers.

Vealer steers 200 to 280kg also topped 594c to average 524c/kg to restockers. 

Vealer steers 280 to 330kg made from 370c to 508c/kg to restockers. 

Vealer heifers under 200kg sold from 320c to 460c/kg to restockers. 

Vealer heifers 200 to 280kg made from 340c to 456c/kg to restockers. 

Vealer heifers 280 to 330kg improved and made to 476c/kg to restockers. 

Yearling steers 200 to 280kg selling from 276c to 570c/kg for the better pens. 

Yearling steers 280 to 330kg made from 418c to 528c/kg to backgrounders. 

Yearling steers 330 to 400kg averaged 467c/kg to backgrounders. 

Yearling heifers under 200kg topped 470c to average 369c/kg to backgrounders. 

Yearling heifers 200 to 280kg selling from 320c to 508c/kg to restockers. 

Yearling heifers 280 to 330kg also improved and made to 439c/kg to restockers. 

Grown steers 400 to 500kg sold from 328c to 444c/kg to processors. 

Grown steers 500 to 600kg made to 440c/kg to processors. 

Bullocks over 600kg made to 440c/kg to processors. 

Grown heifers over 540kg topped 420c to Lot Feeders and 408c/kg to processors. 

A larger offering of cows penned. 

The 3 score cows sold to similar rates as the previous sale to make to 394c/kg to processors. 

The 2 score cows 400 to 520kg slightly dearer across the board and sold from 242c to 360c/kg to processors. 

Young six tooth cows made to 420c/kg to processors. 

Bulls over 600kg sold to 396c/kg to processors.
