In a tight housing market, there are blocks of land a-plenty for sale in Kyogle.
In town there are smaller house blocks available at Mayfield Estate.
Larger rural residential blocks off Runnymede Rd are also on the market.
Real estate agent Alex Gibbon is selling 33 land blocks at Fig Tree Estate on Runnymede Rd, about 4km from Kyogle’s main street.
The first eight blocks will be sold at a discount rate and the money will be used by Milner Property Group for roads and infrastructure on the estate.
The first eight are going for about $290,000 and they would normally sell for $450,000, according to Mr Gibbon.
There are springs on the land and a creek running through it. There is no covenant on what buyers can build at Fig Tree Estate.
“The semi-rural blocks are elevated and there will be no development on the southern side (of the land area),” Mr Gibbon said.
“And all can put bores in.”
Closer to town but still on Runnymede Rd at Kyogle Views, homes are already being built and plenty of blocks are still for sale.
Kyogle Real Estate’s Simon Tough is selling the blocks and said there has been a lot of interest from places such as Murwillumbah.
Twenty-one blocks have sold in stage 1 and more are about to be released for stage 2.
The blocks at Kyogle Views have a covenant on them.
“They must all look similar and be modern, neat and tidy,” Mr Tough said.
The blocks on both the Runnymede Rd sites and at Mayfield Estate at Homestead are flood-free.
Mr Tough has been in real estate for more than 10 years and said the number of blocks for sale in Kyogle is “absolutely positive”.
“It brings new people to town and it brings work to town,” he said.
It keeps local tradies in work too.
“I love Kyogle – keep it in town,” he said.
The development of these three estates will increase Kyogle’s population.
