Young athletes get financial support to chase their champion dreams

Thirty-two young athletes have been helped to chase their dreams of competing at a state, national, and international level, thanks to the Local Sporting Champions program.

The program provides financial assistance to young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who are serious about competing at a high level.


Federal MP Kevin Hogan presented the awards at his Lismore office today, Tuesday, October 1.


Sporting champs awarded include:

Ruby Brown from East Coraki – netball

Matthew O’Neill from Geneva – swimming

Frankie Morrison from Woodburn – netball

Ella Rippon from Tunglebung – netball

Ella Davis from Tabulam – netball

Edward Shields from Casino – softball

Amalia Anderson from Wardell – netball

Lachlan Rippon from Tunglebung – rugby union

Paige Dalby from Broadwater – swimming

and others from Lismore and surrounds.
