Trevor Thompson from Sydney visited his old stomping ground in Casino and Lismore at the end of last year.
Trevor is the chief executive of the Brain Foundation/Migraine and Headache Australia.
Here’s what he said about his trip.
Recently I was thrilled to take a walk down memory lane and visit my hometown of Casino.
I also visited Radio 2LM in Lismore where my radio career started in the mid-70s.
I had not been back for many decades so it was truly bittersweet.
The big tree on the grounds of Casino Public School under which I sat each day to eat my lunch is still there… but much bigger as you would expect given almost 60 years has passed.
It took six decades but I finally got to ring the school bell at Casino Public School.

At Casino High School my old woodwork classroom with the bandsaw is exactly as I remembered.
I was excited to catch up with a couple of old schoolmates including Jon Pinkerton at Pinkerton’s Jewellers and Peter Townsend at Walker Street Cafe.
Those of you who are older understand all too well that your dash through life is very quick.
One day you wake up and realise the ride is more than half over. 
My ride started in Casino and Lismore and they hold a special place in my heart.
