Did you get the hail last night, Thursday, October 31?
Readers shared photos of the hail at Cedar Point, Borabee Park, Cawongla, Fairy Hill, North Casino and between Lismore and Kyogle.
Weatherwatch.net.au said the factors behind yesterday’s large hail included strong instability and extremely cold air in the upper atmosphere, with temperatures at 500mb (about 5.5km altitude) sitting around -15°C—ideal conditions for large hail development. Adding to that was a seabreeze front enhanced storms by providing strong, humid inflow, boosting storm intensity.
