With all the recent rain, this is unlikely to come as a surprise – the Beef Week Cup is cancelled.
The Beef Week Cup Showcase Race Day was tomorrow, Friday, May 29 but the wet weather conditions mean the race cannot be held on the racetrack.
“We are just as disappointed as our trainers, jockeys, owners, sponsors and racegoers who were looking forward to a fantastic day on the track,” Casino Racing Club said.
“The safety of participants, horses and patrons must always come first.”
While the thoroughbred races may be off, there is still plenty happening around town this weekend.
The Casino Greyhound Racing Club will be holding a 10-card twilight meeting on Friday, May 29 at 3pm at Queen Elizabeth Park.
