The Australian Electric Vehicle Association has chosen the Tesla Supercharger station at New Italy as its 2025 Charging Station of the Year.
This title is awarded to the most reliable, convenient, well-kept, and thoughtfully designed public EV charging station in the country.
The Association said the New Italy facility, located off the Pacific Motorway, offers a “very high level of amenity for EV users.”
There is a large solar array shading the 12 charging bays and pull-through parking for EVs towing trailers.
It is also open to non-Tesla drivers with CCS2 plugs and features a convenient tap-and-go credit card payment option.
The New Italy location is close to a cafe, toilets, shops including the Casa Vecchia shop, wholefood shop MyBelle Pantry and the Glass Art Gallery.
This means there is plenty to do and see for drivers while their car is being charged.
Visitors can also enjoy free entry to the New Italy Museum showcasing the history of Italian settlement in the region dating back to 1882. The complex is pet friendly and there’s a fenced in off-leash dog area.
AEVA national president Chris Jones said New Italy had all the elements EV drivers want at a charging station.
