If you’ve ever heard a police radio around the Richmond Police District, chances are you’ve heard a familiar voice coming over the airwaves.

“Casino 81…”

For local police, those two words, and the voice behind them, are instantly recognisable – it’s Marlene Wright, affectionately known as Marls.

Whether she’s relaying important information or sending crews to their next job, generations of officers have come to know Casino 81as more than just a callsign.

It’s the voice of a trusted colleague, a friendly presence, and someone who has helped keep Casino Police Station running smoothly for decades.

Marls recently celebrated 40 years of service to the NSW Police Force.

Marlene Wright is celebrated.

Based at Casino Police Station as a general administrative support officer, Marlene has been a constant source of support for generations of police officers and staff across the Richmond Police District –  whether she’s assisting frontline crews, helping members of the public, or keeping things running behind the scenes – Marlene does it all with a smile and a willingness to help.
