Works on the Iron Gates residential development in Evans Head have started and the initial Subdivision Works Certificate has been issued by Richmond Valley Council.
The Iron Gates development received development consent from the Land and Environment Court in July 2024.
Changed traffic arrangements have been made on the approved route to the site.
Iron Gates Drive has been closed to enable safe access to the development site for construction activities and remediation works on the bridge.
The council will continue to assess and certify the development as it progresses, in the same manner as it does with all approved residential subdivisions across the Richmond Valley.
The council acknowledges that construction activity will cause some disruption and inconvenience, but these impacts are a necessary part of delivering new residential developments, as was the case with the recent Thyme development in Evans Head.
Given the ongoing questions and requests for detailed information and the significant resource impacts of this on the council, the Subdivision Works Certificate will be pro-actively released under GIPA Act – the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (NSW) – on the council’s website.
The supporting documentation is available in hard copy for viewing by appointment at the council’s Evans Head office, to ensure we protect the privacy and intellectual property rights of the applicant and its various consultants.
