Before the Beef Week Cup race there was Fashions on the Field at Casino racetrack today, Friday, May 30.
Nine women stood on the racetrack while two judges selected the placegetters.
First place went to a woman who asked not to be named. She won $1000 and is going to use the money towards a trip to visit her son in America.
Second place went to Shanette Farrell from Casino. Third place went to Amie Want from Lawrence.
All placegetters received a bouquet of flowers and a gift bag.
After Fashions on the Field, the Beef Week Cup ended a day of racing.
The race commentator called the riders on their horses “ghost-like figures” because of the light rain.
