Things have gotten very small at the Cassino Art Gallery – everything is On the Small Side.

The gallery’s sixth exhibition for the year On the Small Side officially opens today, Saturday, November 7 at 2pm and everyone is invited.

The artworks include paintings, photography, craft items and ceramics, most made by local artists – and they are, of course, rather small.

Exhibition curator Ralph Smith said, “It’s been a challenge in our small gallery to show all our exhibits to their best effect, but we’ve fitted everything in and there’ll be something to please everybody.”

This exhibition marks the end of Cassino Gallery’s 2026 program.

The gallery has already planned next year’s exhibitions including the first Portrait Prize and an exhibition dedicated to the work of our two highly acclaimed Tabulam artists, John Reeve and Kathy Pollitt.

On the Small Side features artworks A4 in size or smaller and many artworks are for sale. The exhibition runs until December 12.

Today’s opening is $10 entry and includes a glass of wine and nibbles.

Children enter for free.

Cassino Art Gallery is at 148 Barker Street, Casino.

Open hours are: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 10am-3pm, entry by donation.

The gallery space is available for hire for art classes and workshops.

Gallery president Maree Beek said they welcome junior artists and reserve a place in every exhibition for young upcoming artists to showcase their artwork.
