Hazard reduction burn near highway will be patrolled over weekend

The smoke billowing into the sky across the hills today, Friday, November 28 is from a hazard reduction burn.

RFS crews are doing the hazard reduction burn about 3km east of Tabulam on the Bruxner Highway near Captains Road.

Crews and traffic controllers are assisting with the burn.

Fire crews will be patrolling the fire over the weekend.

RFS trucks on scene were from Mallanganee, Tabulam, Nimbin, Clunes, Sextonville, Bungawalbin, Wyrallah, Caniaba, Kyogle plus two state mitigation crews and a bulk water tanker.
