There have been rumours, and chatter on the streets and social media about Hungry Jacks coming to Casino.
What do people think about a Hungry Jacks in their town?
IndyNR.com contacted Hungry Jacks and a communication company responded but were unable to give any information about the possibility of the takeaway giant coming to Caisno.
We contacted Richmond Valley Council about it.
General manager Vaughan Macdonald said no development application had been lodged.
“We receive regular inquiries from prospective developments and provide an in confidence information service to enable potential investors to understand the opportunities and requirements for developing projects in the Richmond Valley,” Mr Macdonald said.
“These inquiries are confidential and therefore we do not discuss who and any details of what is proposed, as it may not proceed. The point at which the public interest in a matter commences, is when a DA is lodged which is then required to go through the usual public consultation requirements.”
So what do we know?
Unconfirmed reports are that Hungry Jacks is looking at a Walker Street site opposite Days Machinery.
Hungry Jacks representatives have visited the Casino Food Co-op about supply (again, this has not been confirmed).
We don’t like to run a story without comment from those involved — but right now, no one official is saying anything.
We will keep you up to date once a DA is lodged and public comment is invited.
There is a Subway, Kentucky Fried Chicken and McDonalds already in Casino.
What do you think about another takeaway in Casino?

Correction: The communication company asked IndyNR.com to remove their name which was in the orignal story as they were unable to speak on behalf of Hungry Jacks, even though they are the ones who replied to our enquiry.
