Kerrie Gambley is bringing the band home for the first ever music festival in Bonalbo on September 5–6.
“I was at the pub one night and Carl (publican) and I were chatting,” Kerrie said.
“Being home territory – I said ‘Hell, yeah, let’s make it happen’”
Kerrie grew up at Old Bonalbo in the shadow of Haystack Mountain.
While she lives with her family aka the Haystack Mountain Hermits in Mt Tamborine, Queensland, Kerrie is thrilled to come home to perform.
“I go home every two weeks to the farm,” she said.
“So nice to be on home ground.”
She went to Old Bonalbo Public School and was high school captain at Bonalbo Central school.
The band’s third EP is called Homemade Jam and is a lead-up to their original album.
At the Bonalbo Music Festival at the Dog n Bull Hotel, there will be homemade jam for sale from a recipe by Kerri’s mother Lyn Gambley.
The recipe is available here and you can also buy a special Haystack Mountain Hermits tea towel. Tea towels and jams will be available at the gig on Sunday, September 6 at 2.30pm.
The Saturday line-up includes Off Judy, Jase Lansky, Blue Skillet Rovers, The Hawks, The Hoochers, Chris Staff Band, The Linebackers and Billy Gudgeon.
