Kyogle LGA residents can claim a $1000 disaster payment because of floods

Kyogle residents can receive disaster assistance after the flooding of the past few days.
Services Australia originally listed 34 local government areas in NSW as eligible for the Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment.
A further 18, including Kyogle LGA were added to the list after recent flooding.
People living in the Kyogle LGA can claim up to $1,000 per adult and $400 for each child under 16 years old.
Assistance available may include:
  • Help for eligible people whose homes or belongings have been damaged (eligibility criteria apply)
  • Support for affected local councils to help with the costs of cleaning up and restoring damaged essential public assets
  • Concessional interest rate loans for small businesses, primary producers and non-profit organisations
  • Freight subsidies for primary producers
  • Grants to eligible non-profit organisations.
