A Christmas Message from Kyogle mayor Danielle Mulholland
As your mayor, and on behalf of the councillors and staff of Kyogle Council, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year.
As we head into Christmas and the busy summer season, I’m reminded once again of what makes Kyogle such a special place: our connectedness as families, neighbours, and communities.
This time of year, gives us a chance to pause, reconnect and appreciate the people and places that shape our everyday lives.
Christmas looks a little different for everyone, but at its heart is the simple act of coming together – checking in on one another, sharing meals, stories and laughter, and extending kindness where it’s needed most.
I encourage you to look out for neighbours, friends and anyone who may be doing it tough or spending Christmas alone. A small gesture really can make a big difference.
I also encourage you to support local as you shop, eat and explore this summer.
Choosing local keeps money in our region, supports local jobs, strengthens families and helps our towns stay vibrant long after the holidays.
The people behind our cafés and shops and visitor experiences work incredibly hard at this time of year, and they truly appreciate every customer who walks through their doors.
Over the coming weeks we’ll be welcoming many visitors to the area.
Let’s greet them with the warmth and hospitality our region is known for. At Council, we’re guided by values that reflect the best of our community – respect, working together, doing the right thing and taking responsibility for the places, we call home.
These aren’t just words to us; they’re the way we show up for our community every day.
To everyone working through the festive season – in emergency services, health care, hospitality, retail, tourism, farming, transport, and across council – thank you.
Your dedication keeps our area running while others take a well-deserved break.
On behalf of my fellow councillors and all council staff, I wish you and your families a joyful, safe and connected Christmas, and a bright start to the New Year.
May the season bring you rest, kindness and plenty of moments that remind you what matters most – and may your Christmas tree lights untangle more easily than mine did this year!
