Before everyone starts lining up at 7am for a free steak or sausage sandwich, the people who cook the meat are there way earlier.
Before the sun rose on Beef Week Breakfast with the Butchers, volunteers were setting up barbecues along Walker Street today, Friday, May 30 .
Many of the sponsors had their teams arranging tables with bread and tomato sauce ready for the meat — and the people.
The barbecue smell wafted down Walker Street as hundreds made their way into Casino CBD for a free steak sandwich, a flavoured milk and a piece of fruit.
The music is playing and it’s a chilled (as in relaxed) morning as the sausage comp judging gets underway, winners are announced for the busking comp and best window displays and a crowd waits for the cows to arrive for cow pat lotto.
This year, IndyNR.com has focused their photos on the people serving at Breakfast with the Butchers. Most of the volunteers do it year after year — and we thank you.
