The 2025 Beef Week Queen and runner-up will be announced and crowned at the Official Casino Beef Week Opening Ball this Saturday, May 24.
The tiaras for the winner and runner-up are donated by Pinkertons Jewellers in Casino.
Meet the nine entrants vying for the crown:
Isabella Murphy
My name is Isabella Murphy. I’m 18 years old and I will be representing the breed Angus for this year’s festival. I work fulltime at the Casino Meatworks as a trainee in sales and marketing for Northern Rivers Meats. On my weekends, I am completing my Austswim course which includes volunteering at the Casino pool helping teach the little kids to gain the experience and confidence to teach kids by myself. During the winter months, I play soccer with the Casino Cobras women’s team. Last year I coached my own team, the Under 6 Strikers. I look forward to participating in the Beef Week Program, helping out at events and getting Casino into the Beef Week spirit.
Caitlin Ware
Hi, I am Caitlin Ware, I’m 20 years old and work for Days Machinery in Casino as a warranty clerk. I was born and raised in Casino on our family farm, where I have my American Shetland miniature horse stud. I also show and breed at the national and state levels across NSW and Queensland. I’m proud to be representing the Charolais breed at Beef Week 2025. The Charolais breed has always been a part of my childhood with my mum having her own stud and showing throughout the Northern Rivers.
Charlie Murray
Just a small-town country girl from a farming background. I love being around cattle because they make me happy. I’ve been involved with cattle since I could walk, from going to cattle sales to exhibiting Murray Greys with our family stud. I’ve worked in the dairy and beef industry, and have experienced breeding my own cattle on the family farm, milking a dairy herd, being part of an auctioneer team in sales, working in the red meat processing industry and having my own herd of Angus X and Charolais X cows and calves. In my spare time, I like to play sports, hang out with friends and family, ride my horse around the farm with all the cows, attend and be involved in local agricultural shows and cattle sales, and often like to enjoy a steak at the pub. I am 22 years old and currently employed as a livestock handler at the Casino Food Co-Op, where I receive and prepare animals for processing. I recently accepted a new position with the Department of Primary Industries as a Cattle Tick inspector. I will be treating and inspecting cattle and assisting farmers in protecting their stock from the deadly parasite. I am really looking forward to my new role in the ag sector. I’ve chosen to represent the Brangus breed for this year’s festival as I have always been a big fan of this breed, which presents beautifully at shows and also has many benefits to improve herds to create top-notch beef quality. I am lucky enough to be supported by my co-sponsor, OUR COW, a relatively young company that supplies quality grass-fed beef around the country.
Kaitlin Walker
Hi, I’m Kaitlin Walker, and this is a little bit about me. The breed that I am representing for Beef Week this year is Santa Gertrudis. I am 21 years old and for the past two and half years I have run my own business, a beauty salon called Elysian Beauty Bar, on the outskirts of Casino. You can also find me working part time at Fresh Image Beauty in Evans Head. I strive to enhance clients’ natural beauty with the range of products and services I provide. I am a kind, energetic and loving soul. I was born in Casino and currently spend my winter months as the first aid officer and event coordinator for the Evans Head Killer Whales Rugby League Club. I enjoy camping, especially when there is no service, and spending time with my friends and family. I can’t wait to see what Beef Week 2025 has to bring and I’m really excited to represent the Beef Capital of Australia.
Isabella Green
My name is Isabella Green. I am 19 years old and currently working in retail at Woolworths Casino. I enjoy spending time with my friends or at home with all the animals. I grew up on a property with Droughtmaster cattle, so that is why I’ve chosen to represent them during Beef Week this year.
Mackenzie Murphy
Hi, I’m Mackenzie Murphy, and I was born and raised in Casino. I am an 18 year old aspiring chef who enjoys trying new foods, listening to music, drawing, travelling, going to the beach, hanging out with my friends and family and helping others when I can. I will be representing the breed Braford for Beef Week 2025.
Georgia Owen
Hi, my name is Georgia Owen. I am 20 years old and a barista at a local cafe here in Casino. Being a local and growing up with Beef Week as a kid made me love this time of year. I love how the whole town comes together to celebrate and have a little fun around cattle, which may seem like an odd thing to do until you have experienced it for yourself. I enjoy and have been involved in campdrafts and rodeos for as long as I can remember, and cattle is a massive part of that world. It’s great to see that everyone can get to enjoy the cattle and see all the different breeds without having to come from the same background. The breed of cattle that I have chosen to represent is Murray Grey. I have entered this year’s Beef Week Queen Program to challenge myself, step out of my comfort zone and get to know and learn more about the community. Year after year I watched the entrants gain confidence and a love for our community and I knew that one day I wanted to be a part of that. I’m so excited for the journey ahead alongside such an amazing group of young women, and I am eager to see how this experience will help us all grow.
Lillian Green
Hey, I’m Lillian, also known as Lilly or Lil. I am 20 years old and am currently working as a Receptionist at a Law Firm. I have lived in Casino ever since I was 3 years old and have always loved Beef Week. I love all things to do with animals, friends/family, music and also don’t mind the occasional pub visit for a feed. The breed I have chosen to represent is Limousin. I can’t wait to see what this year’s festival brings for our community.
Mishayla Hayes
Hi, I’m Mishayla Hayes, but you can call me Mish. I’m 23 years old, a hairdresser, and an avid reader! I’ve been a Casino girl for nearly 24 years, minus a few of my teen years, which I spent living on a chicken farm at McKees Hill. In my downtime, you would typically find me at the gym, deep in a book, or spending time with my family. I’ve chosen to represent Simmental as my breed as a nod to my chosen family, who breed and show them.
