NSW Police clarify number of deaths in state floods March 10, 2022 FacebookTweetLinkedInEmail NSW Police issued a clarification of the number of people who have died in the recent floods. As of today, Thursday, March 10, the number of flood associated deaths is nine. This number includes the death of a 54-year-old man whose car was found in flood waters on the Central Coast on Friday, February 25. The other eight deaths are: • An 84-year-old woman located at a home on Ewing Street, Lismore, on Tuesday, March 1. • An 82-year-old woman located at a home on Casino Street, Lismore, on Tuesday, March 1. • A 56-year-old man located in flood waters at Uralba and Dawson Streets, Lismore, on Wednesday, March 2. • A 72-year-old man located at a unit on Cromer Street, South Lismore on Wednesday, March 2. • A 51-year-old man located at Byrill Creek Road, near Terragon, south of Murwillumbah, on Friday, March 4. • A 67-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man located at Wentworthville, on Tuesday, March 8 • A 51-year-old man located in flood waters at Wolstenholme Avenue, Greendale on Wednesday, March 9. There has been much talk in the community about deaths that haven’t been reported. There are no official reported deaths from the floods in Richmond Valley and Kyogle LGA.
