Read Local – on your desktop, tablet or phone and once a week on paper with the Inky.

The Indy is here to tell the stories in our communities – and connect us.

We share this narrative of difficult stories, of tragic ones and the joyful stories, we tell stories about the characters who live here and about the place where we live.

Your local news is free – no paywalls, no paying to read stories

Advertisers make this possible and if you are one of these advertisers we thank you.

Readers, your support of the businesses that advertise on indynr.com helps them and helps us.

Tell your friends and family about where to read local news. Here’s the stats from indynr.com this year, so far.

Get notified when a new story is published

When you’ve clicked and read some stories, a picture of a bell will appear on the left hand bottom corner of your desktop, tablet of phone screen.

This is for notification – you click on the bell and a message will pop up (see below) to ask if you’d like to be notified when a new story is being published.

It’s free and keeps you up to date.

This is the symbol to click for notifcations when stories are published on indynr.com

Download the Inky and hold a newspaper in your hands

Every Wednesday, the Inky is available on indynr.com and can be dowloaded, printed and shared for free.

It is for those readers who like to read the news in a paper. We alternate the paper with one week the Kyogle Inky and the next is the Richmond Valley Inky. And yes – we print funerals in the Inky. The Inky has eight pages of local news and lots of photographs.

It is available at public libraries and we encourage cafes, doctor surgeries, markets, dentists and other shops to print their own Inky for their customers. The Inky is free to download and if you pay to get it printed, you can charge for that printing.

The Inky is available every Wednesday.

Funeral notices

Send us your funeral notice and we publish this for free. We only publish the funeral notices of those who have lived in Kyogle or Richmond Valley LGAs.

A new What’s On that covers more events

We have a new What’s On listing – one where you can contribute an event yourself. Again, the focus if on our local patch but we will include events happening in Lismore and further afield if a similar event is not happening local. We are still tweaking and making this event listing as comprehensive as possible.

Our What’s On is getting an update.

Advertise with us

Contribute to our news

Can you write? Have you taken a photo that we could publish? We welcome contributions and will credit you or if you prefer we can write Photo: Contributed (sometimes people like this if they’ve taken photo of a car crash).
