Please Sir, can we have some more –Village Hall Players brings us Oliver!

This year Kyogle has already hosted some wonderful theatre performances – and now Village Hall Players brings you the classic – Oliver!

The production of the story by Charles Dickens comes to the stage at the KMI Hall in September.

The musical follows Oliver, a young orphan through Victorian London’s underworld of theft and violence as he searches for a home.

We all know the story – but have you seen it performed by a cast of 40 local actors, singers and dancers of all ages? The cast includes three generations of one family.

There are a lot of child actors in Oliver!

Consider yourself lucky that codirectors Lynette Zito and Jill Runciman are bringing this performance to the stage.

Village Hall Players are working hard to make this show one to remember with the familiar Oliver songs and the play’s dry British humour. The audience is encouraged to join in and say – ‘Please sir, I want some more!’

The book, music and lyrics of Oliver! were written by Lionel Bart, and the production is licensed exclusively by Music Theatre International (Australasia).

Cameron Clarke is Bill Sikes and Jasmine Phillips is Nancy.

Oliver! will be performed over six performances, including matinee and evening shows on September 7–22 at the Kyogle Memorial Institute Hall.

Tickets are $20 ($15 for under 12s) and are on sale online here.

Tickets are also available at Clay Corner, Summerland Way, Kyogle and at the door, if not sold out.

Follow the group on Facebook and Instagram for more Oliver! highlights.
