This week NSW public school teachers will receive a 3% pay rise, the final instalment of a three-year deal that has lifted salaries by up to $20,000 since 2023.
The pay rise for teachers is aimed at addressing teacher shortages by lifting the status of the profession and restoring competitiveness with other states.
Starting salaries of $75,791 will be increased to $92,882, and top-of-scale teacher salaries will increase from $113,042 to $133,422.
The State Government said the latest increase will land in bank accounts this week.
The government reforms are to attract more teachers into NSW public schools and helping retain those already there.
Deputy premier and Minister for Education and Early Learning Prue Car said “better pay, better conditions, and fewer vacancies means more consistency in classrooms and better education outcomes for students.”
