Evans Head surfer Callum Robson won the Gold Coast Pro surf event today, Wednesday, May 11.
The world no. 8 has the support of his hometown behind him with every wave he surfs.
Robson finished second at Bells Beach in Victoria last month, but today he beat Sheldon Simkus in the hard-fought final.
His triumph at Snapper Rocks will be celebrated in Evans Head. In the final, Robson scored 16.07 beating Simkus on 15.37.
Before that, Robson beat Jackson Baker, Ramzi Boukhiam, Nolan Rapoza in a hectic day of surfing in the Challenger Series event.
Robson isn’t only thinking about surfing. He is raising money in a raffle to help Woodburn, Broadwater, Swan Bay and Bungawalbin communities recover from the floods.
And this is no ordinary raffle.
“I’ll be raffling off a bunch of incredible prizes with the money raised to go to GIVIT, which will be working with the Mid-Richmond Neighbourhood Centre to ensure the donated goods are going to the right places,” Robson said.
Here’s what you could win.
