The other day I drove from Mallanganee to Ballina – there were seven sets of traffic lights along the way because of roadworks.
The journey took an extra 20 minutes because of this. I’m not complaining though, any work on the highway or on the road from Casino to Woodburn is a good thing.
As well as the widening of the Bruxner Highway near Piora, Transport for NSW will be spray sealing of sections of the Bruxner.
The locations for the spray sealing include:
To the west of Lismore near Caniaba Road, Loftville and Pelican Creek Bridge
In the Piora area to the west of Casino
And several locations between Tenterfield and Tabulam.
Transport for NSW plans to do this between October and March.
The advanced technology being used for the spray sealing applies a protective layer of hot bitumen and aggregate that waterproofs roads against heavy rain damage while providing grip in all weather conditions – extending road life by up to 10 years, Transport for NSW said.
