The film about the men and women who got into their tinnies and rescued people in the February-March floods last year has been screening across the Northern Rivers.

Last night, Tuesday, March 28, Tinnie Heroes showed to a packed crowd at the Plateau Sports Club organised by the Rotary Club of Alstonville.

Film maker Susanna Freymark spoke to the audience before the screening.

Bob May from Woodburn, who features in the film, also spoke to the crowd.

A donation bucket was handed around and $353 was raised.

The money will go to the Northern Rivers Flood Action Group, based in Woodburn.

President Tony Carusi accepted the money on behalf of the group.

More Tinnie Heroes screenings are being organised in Lismore, Kyogle, Eureka and Yamba. Dates will be announced here.

Earlier this month, $1500 was raised at the screening at Byron Bay Golf Club.
