Yarding doubles to 1759 at this week’s NRLX cattle sales

Numbers at the NRLX in Casino doubled compared to last week with a yarding of 1759 head at cattle sales today, Wednesday, May 27.

Quality was mixed and there was a marked increase in weaner numbers.

Trends were on the rise through most categories with regular buyers attending and competing.

Weaner steers under 200kgs were considerably dearer 265c to 506c/kg similar heifers also dearer 220c to 478c/kg both categories to background. 

Light weaner steers to background to 30c/kg better 340c to 530c/kg. 

The feeder drafts were 25c/kg better 430c to 526c/kg. 

Weaner heifers to 280kgs gained 15c/kg 310c to 418c/kg. Processor veal 320c to 380c/kg.

Medium yearling steers to feed much dearer 346c to 518c/kg and heavy feeders 380c to 458c/kg. 

Light yearling heifers to background 358c/kg and 372c/kg to feed. 

Medium feeders 380c to 458c/kg.

Heavy grown steers to process lifted 36c/kg 412c to 460c/kg heavy grown  heifers slipped 11c/kg 302c to 366c/kg. 

Medium cows to 13c/kg dearer 224c to 355c/kg. 

Heavy cows 16c to 23c/kg dearer 336c to 427c/kg. 

Heavy bulls 15c/kg better 355c to 382c/kg. 

Medium weight bulls to feed 348c to 360c/kg.
