Numbers fell by 535 to a total yarding of 1400 head at the NRLX in Casino today, Wednesday, September 16.
The yarding of young cattle again consisted mainly of weaners in a mixed quality offering. The market varied considerably depending on weight and breed.
Light weight well bred restocker weaner steers met a strong market selling from 480c to 624c, however medium weights were down by 10c to 20c selling from 446c to 572c to average 519c/kg.
Restocker weaner heifers followed a similar trend to the steers, with the well bred light weights selling from 420c to 549c while the medium weights averaged 465c/kg.
Yearling steers topped at 500c and the yearling heifers to feed sold to 432c/kg.
Grown steers reached a top of 440c to process and feeder heifers sold to 434c/kg.
The cow market was either side of firm with 2 score medium weights selling from 270c to 355c, while 3 score medium weights averaged 368c and heavy 4 score cows sold from 370c to 394c/kg.
Heavy bulls reached a top price of 410c/kg.
