Numbers were down only slightly for a yarding of 1850 head at the NRLX in Casino today, Wednesday, August 5.
Quality of the young cattle was fairly mixed, although there was some well bred weaner steers and heifers through the sale.
The market eased and varied considerably with restocker weaner steers selling 20c to 30c cheaper, although the well bred steers were less affected, ranging from 354c to 560c with the medium weights averaging 469c/kg.
The restocker weaner heifers were 30c to 40c easier with the plainer cattle suffering the greatest loss, prices ranged from 270c to 402c the medium weights averaged 363c/kg.
The few feeder yearling steers sold to a top of 492c, while yearlings heifers topped at 420c/kg.
There was limited numbers of grown steers and heifers, the steers sold to 412c to process and feeder steers toped at 470c/kg.
Grown heifers sold to 390c to process.
Cow numbers were back only slightly in a mixed quality offering.
Overall the market varied either side of 10c cheaper.
The 2 score medium weight cows sold from 248c to 334c, while the 3 score medium weights averaged 357c/kg.
Heavy cows sold from 360c to 382c/kg.
The bull market continued to be strong with heavy weights reaching a top price of 406c/kg.
