More than $1million will be spent on improving a section of the Summerland Way 3km south of Dairy Flat.

Work will start on the 1.1km section of road on Monday, January 29 and is expected to take six weeks.

Work will include widening and sealing the road shoulder and the installation of safety barriers.

To reduce impact on the area, Transport for NSW will use an existing stockpile about 3km from the work site near the intersection with Hilderbrands Road at Dairy Flat.

Single lane alternating traffic flow arrangements, traffic control and a 40km speed limit will be in place during work hours.

The State Government $1.05million funding comes from the Saving Lives on Country Roads Program.
