A big crowd is expected for the funeral of David ‘Crockett’ Torrens in Casino, tomorrow, Wednesday, April 12.

The funeral service is at the Queen Elizabeth Park 1 at 10am–2pm followed by a wake at the Casino RSM Club at 2.30-4.30pm.

Crockett was living at Jubullum Village at Tabulam when he passed away on March 24. He was 66.

His family have requested that Cougars players, ex-players, supporters and volunteers wear their Cougars gear.

At the service, the hearse will do a lap of honour around the park. People are requested to stand and clap one last time for Crockett, just like in his four grand finals for the club.

A guard of honour will then be formed.

Anyone who crossed paths with Crockett is welcome to attend.

Following the gathering, a procession with a high volume of cars will move through the Casino area.

Roads affected will be Adam and Hare streets, the Irving Bridge, Hotham St and Queensland Rd.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time from 12pm while travelling through the area.
