Car crashed on its side near rail crossing, driver on multiple charges

Emergency services were called to a crash on Hare St, Casino at 11.30pm yesterday, Saturday, September 2.

Crew found the car lying on its side close to the North Coast rail line level crossing.

The driver, 24, was not injured.

Police gave him a roadside breath test which allegedly returned a positive result.

He was taken to Casino Police Station for a breath analysis that allegedly returned a result of 0.144, nearly three times the state limit of 0.05.

The man was charged with driving with middle range PCA, driving an unregistered vehicle on the road and using an uninsured motor vehicle on the road.

He will appear in Casino Local Court on October 5.
