A white SUV crossing floodwaters at a causeway at Doubtful Creek got into serious trouble today, Monday, January 1
The Casino Rescue Squad was called to Doubtful Creek at 6pm after reports there were people in a car in floodwaters.
When the rescue crew arrived, the SUV was almost completely submerged.
A VRA rescue squad member and two SES flood specialists waded out to the SUV but as soon as they got to it, the car sank into the creek.
Crews were able to access the SUV and confirm nobody was inside.
The rescue squad urged drivers not to try and cross floodwaters.
“If it’s flooded, forget it.”
