Richmond Valley Council is seeking information after complaints of tree poisoning on Terrace St in Evans Head.

Investigations revealed 11 trees were deliberately poisoned.

Evidence of a pellet-type of poison has been collected.

The poisoned trees are dead.

These trees form part of the local ecosystem and play an integral role in dune and riparian stabilisation and provide a windbreak, shade and nesting areas for birds, a council representative said.

Anyone with information regarding this matter or any other acts of vandalism, should contact the council’s regulatory services team leader Paul Cowles on 6660 0285.
