Emergency services were called to Clarence Way, Sandilands after reports of a crash at 1.10pm today, Tuesday, April 28.
When police arrived, they found a Ford SUV that had left the roadway, hit a tree before rolling down an embankment.
RFS crews set up fire protection while VRA Rescue members stabilised the car. Using specialist rescue equipment, crews removed the doors and B-pillar to allow safe access to the driver.
The male driver and sole occupant of the Ford SUV was treated at the scene by paramedics.

As paramedics continued to stabilise the patient, the same crews established a landing zone at the intersection of Bruxner Highway and Clarence Way for the incoming Queensland Government Rescue 500 Lifeflight helicopter.
The man was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
