Kyogle Environment Group is hosting the screening of The Giants at Kyogle Cinema this Thursday, August 10.
The Giants is about environmental activist and former politician Bob Brown. The film interweaves Brown’s life with the story of the ancient trees he fights to save.
From the Franklin River to the Tarkine, this is billed as “a rollercoaster tale that will leave you hopeful and inspired to make a difference”.
The screening coincides with conservation group North East Forest Alliance trying to stop logging in two state forests amid concerns about decreasing koala populations.
The focus has been on the state-owned Forestry Corporation’s Myrtle and Braemar forests.
