Kyogle students are in for a treat – a literary one to ignite their minds.
Students have the opportunity to learn about storytelling and writing techniques with author Melaina Faranda in a free five week creative writing program.
Ms Faranda has published 60 books and she’ll be sharing her knowledge with young writers through Kyogle Readers and Writers Inc.
The program is a collaboration with Kyogle Council and Regional Arts NSW and is being offered at no cost to students in years 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 from Kyogle’s local schools.
The program consists of five dynamic weekly sessions, each lasting two and a half hours, starting Thursday, March 6.
The Ignite Young Minds program consists of two separate primary and secondary sessions.
The sessions are structured to spark imagination, refine writing skills, and develop editing techniques to polish and refine writing and finish with a celebratory book launch of the students’ published work.
