It’s all about the peaches – ripening in sweetness waiting to be picked.

For the seventh time, John and Frieda de Kleuver are hosting a Peach Festival at their farm Southview Orchard on Hogarth Range this Sunday, October 20.

If you’ve never been to the orchard before, you’re in for a treat.

On Sunday, the whole family can wander the rows of peach trees and pick their own peaches for $7 a kilo.

John said it’s fun and educational for the children to learn how peaches grow.

“Peaches don’t come from the supermarket,” he said.

At Southview Orchard, they come straight from the tree.

Bring a blanket and sit and eat your peaches right there or take them home.

Everything is just peachy at Southview Orchard.

John and Frieda have organised some fun activities for the children.

There will be face painting, colouring-in and pumpkin bowls – yep, bowling ten pins with a small pumpkin. And as a special treat, there will be a treasure hunt for the kids too.

There will be live music and coffee and food to buy.

Nine local food stalls will be set up at Southview selling macadamias, olives, pastries, jams, juices and cordials, coffee and Indonesian food.

Casino Lions Club is doing the barbecue with all money raised going to support Lions International.

Pick your own peaches.

Every person who visits will get a ticket and every hour, a ticket will be drawn out of the peach bucket and you could win a prize – like a lucky door prize but at the farm gate.

There are so many reasons to get yourself, your family and friends to the Peach Festival at Southview Orchard. Only 30 from Casino, 60km from Lismore.

Spend a few hours at Southview Orchard, eating and enjoying the Peach Festival.
