From the ashes four years ago, a new community hall grows

The new Rappville Community Hall opens on Monday, February 27 at 11.30am.

It is a momentous occasion because Rappville lost its hall in the 2019 bushfires.

The new facility includes a spacious hall, outdoor deck, with an additional building housing a communal kitchen and supper room and a covered outdoor dining area.

There are community garden spaces around the buildings.

Richmond Valley Council have bought the church next to the community centre too.

Former Governor General Sir Peter Cosgrove is a special guest at the opening where light lunch will be available.

Richmond Valley Council funded the rebuild with help from a $500,000 grant from the Federal Government Bushfire Recovery Grant, and $500,000 from the not-for-profit organisation BizRebuild.

Everyone is welcome to join the Rappville community at the opening.
