Going natural: new play park could be ready by Christmas

Sherie Burrows is mother to a one year old and a three year old.

It’s no surprise she is keen to know the plans for the play park at Reflections Holiday Park in Evans Head

I was concerned how user friendly it would be so I contacted Reflections head office

With her friends, also mothers, she went to see the site with the park’s operations manager.

The play park will be located behind the beach kiosk at Evans Head, near the old amenities block, Sherie said and open to the public.

The design is by the same landscape architect who did Summerland House.

Sherie was told the park would be completed by Christmas.

Originally in the 2016 concept plan, the community requested a water play area.

This is now not happening so the park doesn’t compete with water play at Evans Head Aquatic Centre, Sherie said.

Sherie and friends were impressed the park will have a natural look and blend in with the surrounds.

Reflections Evans Head and the Reflections Holiday Parks Head Office were contacted for comment. We’ll update this story when they respond.

The play park is being built by Reflections Holiday Parks in partnership with funding from the NSW Government’s Growth, Environment and Tourism Fund.
