Installing rumble strips on Bruxner Highway will take four months

Rumble strips will be installed between West Ballina and Tenterfield.

Rumble strips, also called audio tactile line markings are being installed along the Bruxner Highway next week.

 The safety improvement work is being done between Tenterfield and West Ballina.

Mobile traffic control will be in place while the rumble strips are being installed on the highway.

The strips are a highly effective road safety treatment that is known to reduce targeted crashes by 25%.

Work will be carried out every day of the week from Monday, March 4 between 7am–6pm.

The complete installation is expected to be finished by mid June.

There will be single lane closures and a 40km speed limit will be in place.

The State Government is spending $46million over the next three years to install rumble strips on key regional routes – the Bruxner Highway is one of those routes. More than 2700km of rumble strips – the equivalent of driving from Sydney to Adelaide and back again will be installed along regional highways.
