John Leadbeatter has been growing giant pumpkins at Rukenvale for so long, he can’t remember how many he’s grown.

He usually enters his best and biggest in the Summerland Giant Pumpkin and Watermelon Festival.

This year he has grown a beauty for the annual Guess the Weight competition.

Steven Leadbeatter helps John Leadbeatter weigh the pumpkin.

John’s pumpkin is at Harley and Co Agri-centre on Summerland Way where anyone can go in and have a guess.

The closest guess to the real weight wins $500.

The winner will be announced at the festival this Saturday, January 20 in Stratheden Street, Kyogle.

Come along for the farmers market from 8am and see the giant pumpkins being weighed.

Before the festival there are heritage train rides. Find out more here.
