A group of Kyogle residents has put a petition in Kyogle shops in response to the shock sacking of Kyogle Council’s general manager Graham Kennett.
The petition says:
We the community of Kyogle would like:
1 Sack the current council.
2 Appoint an administrator.
3 Investigate the current council’s decision to sack the general manager.
The group wants to collect at least 500 signatures.
The petition will be sent to State MP Janelle Saffin and the Minister for Local Government Ron Hoenig.
The petition will also be online soon and petitions will be available in villages outside of Kyogle.
Today, Wednesday, December 13, signatures will be collected outside the Kyogle Memorial Institute Hall where a fire ants workshop is being held. People can sign the petition between 4.30–5.30pm and after 6pm when the workshop ends.
