Did you see the September supermoon last night?

If you missed it, below are some photos from readers.

The supermoon is also known as a harvest moon because in the northern hemisphere, it appears around the time of the autumn equinox.

In Australia, despite appearing in our skies near the spring equinox – the name has stuck.

The harvest moon will continue looking big and bright in the sky until the end of the week.

There will be another supermoon on October 17.
