A 44 year old man was arrested today, Monday, January 1, for the alleged online grooming of a 15 year old girl.
On Friday, December 29, the girl started chatting to what she believed was a 17 year old boy on Snapchat.
It was the 44 year old man.
After investigations, police arrested a man at the Border Ranges.
He was taken to Lismore Police Station, where he was charged with four offences – meeting and travelling to meet a child groomed for sexual activity, using a carriage service to groom someone under 16 years for sex, taking and detaining a person with intent to obtain advantage and aggravated sexual touching of another person.
The man was refused bail and will be in Lismore Local Court tomorrow, Tuesday, January 2.
