The coast seems to copping most of the severe weather today, Monday, August 12 with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting heavy rainfall between 50–80mm with rain continuing throughout the week.
This impacts our rivers and the NSW SES has advised people in Coraki and Bungawalbin to stay informed about minor flooding on the Richmond River:
Showers and potentially heavy rainfall are forecast which may result in river level rises along the Northern Rivers from today and into next week.
Catchments in the flood watch areas are already relatively wet.
Some roads have been impacted by water including Wyrallah Road into Lismore.
Check the Richmond Valley Disaster Dashboard for weather and road closure updates. Or the Kyogle LGA Disaster Dashboard.
Flood advice from the SES includes:
Do not drive, ride, walk or play in flood water.
Be aware of fast-rising drains, creeks and rivers
Never drive, ride, walk, swim or play in floodwater.
