A new chief executive has been appointed to the Casino RSM Club.

John Walker is a familiar face in the region.

The former Richmond Valley Council general manager resigned from the council in 2015 for family and personal reasons, Mr Walker said at the time.

He accepted a position as chief executive at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Council in Western Australia.

Mr Walker was also the general manager at Lismore City Council in 2022.

His next role is at the RSM Club and he starts mid-December.

The Casino RSM Club is a great community asset with a bright future, he said.

Casino RSM Club board president Brad Birney said the Club and Casino RSM Properties had strategic plans in place and Mr Walker’s appointment was key to the organisation’s future.

No mention was made by the Club about why former chief executive Neale Genge left.
