Odette and her funny friends are up to no good with their She-nanigans comedy show

Odette Nettleton is bringing you an entertaining night with her funny friends.

Kyogle’s funny woman Odette Nettleton is at it again –and for a good cause.

Funny Jumbles presents She-nanigans, a women’s comedy showcase at the Star Court Theatre in Lismore on Saturday, March 8.

She-nanigans is part of the 2025 Lismore Women’s Festival organised by women’s charity Northern Rivers Women’s and Children’s Services,  also called NORWACS.

She-nanigans is the first ticketed event organised by Funny Jumbles.

Odette has been running open mic comedy nights in Lismore and wanted to organise an all-women comedy show as part of the Lismore Women’s Festival.

She said comedian Vanessa Larry Mitchell (who isn’t in the show) had been incredibly encouraging of women’s comedy on the Northern Rivers, and has produced several IWD shows.

“She has continually supported me during my comedy career.”

She-nanigans features comedians Emma Zammit, Grace Hogan, Slappy Tee, Lainie Chait, Haylz Carter and Odette Nettleton.

Emma Zammit is from Brisbane and she began her standup comedy career in early 2008 after her sister decided it was time to move her one-liners out of the lounge room and enrolled her in a standup comedy writing course for the sake of family harmony.

Emma’s relaxed and relatable style has been a hit with audiences and her musings on parenthood, people and everyday life make her a highly entertaining performer. Recently, she’s been the support act for Jimeoin at his Brisbane shows.

Grace Hogan is comedian, nudist, and superstar and she has supported Vanessa Larry Mitchell at many shows. Inspired by Jim Carrey, her physical comedy combined with absurdism is in a class of its own.

Slappy Tee brings a playful and chaotic tension of opposites to the stage, blending sweet, light-hearted humour with harsh personal reflections.

Lainie Chait is an author, comedian, DJ, podcaster, radio host and trivia master who floats around and entertains whoever she can, whenever she can. Lainie has a weekly radio show on BayFM called In the driver’s seat and hosts two trivia nights a week around the shire. She is charismatic, effervescent and doesn’t play by the rules, unless those rules involve being cheeky and saying words that rhyme with duck.

Haylz Carter is a queer comedian and mother, living in Lismore. Her journey into stand-up comedy started after she tried to become a singer and realised that talking shit to strangers in pubs came more naturally. Drawing from observations of their own life, as well as society at large, Haylz’s comedy style can best be described as relatable, sometimes dark, always a “little bit” feminist.

These comedians are bringing the She-nanigans – Lainie Chait, Haylz Carter, Emma Zammit and Slappy Tee.

Odette started performing stand up in 2019 after attending one of Mandy Nolan’s famous comedy writing workshops.

Odette started performing around the Northern Rivers. She has performed in Sydney, Brisbane, and places in between, and has shared the stage with Mel Buttle, Ting Lim, Vanessa Larry Mitchell and Ellen Briggs.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to NORWACS to help them continue their important work supporting women and children in the Northern Rivers community.

She-nanigans Women’s Comedy Showcase at Star Court Theatre, Molesworth Street, Lismore on Saturday, March 8, show starting at 7pm.
